Budaka's
Blogg |

|
It’s
been a while since I’ve posted to blogg. Live performances
for Budaka have been in limbo for awhile. I have been focusing
on recording Thanksgiving week was very productive. Petr
Z. laid down 13 new rhythm tracks, mainly upbeat funk and
house beats. He’s really great to work with he’s
so easy going. Recording with the electronic kit really
makes my life easy in production and mixing. Scott Enyart
Crashed into town in grand rock style, and slammed down
some lead guitar over the tracks Gunner is always full
of surprises he can really make a guitar scream. I finished
the up the weekend with Travoi swinging by the studio.
T created some incredible solo saxophone work on a few
of the rhythm tracks. T has more music talent then anyone
I have had the pleasure of working with the exception of
my good friend Peter Witham. T. also crafted several compositions
on the keyboard. I can’t wait for everyone to hear
what we have put together. The music recording work is
rewarding It makes me feel as though I have accomplished
something lasting. The live performances are exhilarating
and the audience appreciations is addicting; Yet some times
it feels fleeting and lost after its over with exception
of the wonderful memories that created. So stayed tuned
I will be putting some new sounds on the wind soon.

I
see this scene grow like seeds we sow. Landscapes of sound
that you will soon know. Little bye bye little day by day.
I see the fans arrive listen, enjoy and stay. The applause
and cheer is food for the soul so I say. That gives us
strength to continue on. From us you will not hear just
another cover song. Those that say it can't be done that
the music world war is only won; by the elite powerful
companies that have always controlled and always run. They
have not witnessed the Budaka sons. The men that create
their own music path built on a foundation to last. You
will see not before long the whole world will sing a Budaka
song.

BUDAKA,
BUDAKA, BUDAKA......Now Uncle Albert's knows which way the
road goes.......Friday night we performed to a full house
at Uncle Albert's on Barker Cypress; the crowd was VERY receptive
to BUDAKA'S mojo and a good time was had by all. We would
like to thank Richard and the Wait staff for making us feel
right at home, Lonnie Posey for the opportunity to turn it
out, and our main "VATO" TONY for the ongoing belief
in what were trying to achieve. THANKS FOR THE LOVE YALL!
A word to the wise if your going to play Uncle Albert's...
at 2:00am the waitress's clear the place out and divvy up
who is f%*!in who, so be careful. Thanks again

Once
again the tide has shifted in the BUDAKA camp. Since the
start of 2006 we have been experimenting with new ways of
getting our music to the masses. To build a fan base in a
place were most people say "there is no scene”,
let me remind you a traffic accident can happen anywhere
and cause a scene, it just takes something bigger than ordinary
to get the helicopters there! With the addition of a new "PROFESSIONAL" rhythm
section, BUDAKA is once again ready to battle the beast known
as H-TOWN. BUDAKA is looking to combine our skills and talent
with the booking power of LONNIE POSEY @ HOUSTONS LIVE MUSIC
to rise above the mediocrity that is the Houston music scene.
The ability to catch BUDAKA in February and March should
be allot more convenient for all. So get out and see a show,
and support some local boys trying to let the world know "HEY
THERE'S A COMMOTION GOING ON IN HOUSTON!"

The forecast was clear and the Budaka jam, although a week
later (thanks to RITA) kicked off. The place was hopping. We
would really like to thank Dave and all the wait staff for
the help. The feedback was GREAT and we've really found a place
that allows us to be BUDAKA. Thanks to all the players that

Cosmos
is out of this world
Mark
Zeus (markzeus.com) runs a tight ship I was
certainly impressed this was probably the most well organized
jam I have been involved
with. Everyone had equal time to perform. The audience
was sincerely involved and interested in the musicians.
Some of Houston’s best singer songwriters appear
at Cosmos it is most worthy of checking out. The sound
was well balanced and mixed. The food is excellent. Cosmos
is defiantly a nice place to hang out and chill if you’re
looking for an evening of good people great music and tasty
food.

WHITE from MOOSEPIE RECORDS (thanks for the tee-shirt), JOSAL
and all the people who made Budaka feel like the stars we're
trying to become.

Wired
Java & Internet Café
Budaka had wonderful opportunity
to play at the Wired Java & Internet Café on
Monday July 25, 2005. This not your ordinary
café; the owners have gone all out with
the sound system and stage. It is definitely
a scene everyone should check out it has a good
vibe.
Budaka had
the pleasure of meeting the owners of OutBoundMusic.com Al
and Courtney Delaney are a real class act. Take
a moment and browse there site, listen to the artist
and better yet buy a cd or a song. Please support
your local artist it’s very important. I believe
the arts a have a major impact on society. Thank
you OutBoundMusic.com for you patronage to the arts.

The
Band Budaka is born.
We say good bye to the band name South-Bound as it served us well.
The name Budaka will prove to be a
better choice to represent our music and who we are. We feel that
it is unique in the realm of band names and fun to say and its
meaning has a positive sort of mojo. So the next time you feel
good scream Budaka!
